    My guess (hope) is that provincial governments will move left over the next 4 years as the public seeks a counterbalance.

    ....Anyways, if you don't want to sell something to somebody for WHATEVER reason, no matter how ridiculous, shouldn't that be your right?

    inevitably your right to do "whatever" starts to be limited when your actions infringe on somebody else's rights or cause harm to others.

    In any event, federal/state/local governments all have the right to regulate commerce so your "rights" when it comes to operating a business are already limited and regulated

    Do not take it wrong, the English was not correct, he wanted a translation, but he asked what did the woman say.

    Well, then, let me make you happy. You're going to be the last person of the day, so why not... :)

    With regards to aforementioned website containing a video clip of a Japanese woman demonstrating a stunningly simple technique wherein in three rapid moves she folds a t-shirt to a certain predefined size and shape;

    AND WHEREAS she gives a narration of the process in the Japanese language;

    AND WHEREAS MikeTheC is not literate in Japanese and therefore cannot make any direct use or sense of the spoken Japanese instructions;

    AND WHEREAS this thread, having nothing really to do with the ancient Japanese art of folding t-shirts, but yet heavily discussing Japanese commercials and Apple's renewed presence in them;

    I would humbly request that, should someone here have an over-abundance of time on their hands, time which is of such sufficient abundance that they cannot otherwise fill it, and is suitably and/or sufficiently bored, AND who happens to be fluent in Japanese, if it would please or in some small way entertain you, please enter by way of the standard electronic form, written in English, the substance of what the afore-referenced Japanese instructor said as she gave the afore-mentioned and afore-referenced instructions in Japanese.

    Thank you.

    If people are the greatest asset then paying people to diminish that asset is a very dumb idea.

    Who says people are the greatest asset? Do you know what happens when bacteria overwelms its environment? Have you ever heard of too much of a good thing? ;)

    Not half as sad as the machine of mediocrity that is Simon Bloody Cowell's monopoly on our christmas number ones.

    So the frig what if a bunch of people want to feel like they've accomplished a small victory by bumping that rubbish off the top spot? It's harmless fun.

    Frig? Really? Ok then.

    It's not about the small victory and believe me, I have no particular tendency for Joe or the xfactor in general.

    The bottom line is that the Christmas number one is a popularity contest. It is meant to be what record is the most popular at that time of year. In recent times, that just happens to be the xfactor winner. Big deal. The sad part is a bunch of people rallying round another (pretty poor) song just to make a point. What is the point exactly? The irony lies in the lyric to the RATM track: '...I don't do what you tell me', all the while trying to tell as many people as possible to buy the RATM track.

    Are you people seriously applauding this? What a waste of our tax dollars!! I do contracts with the Navy every single day and I know that the technology that they have will not be benefited by the use of iPad/iPod/iPhone. The military does not offer wi-fi to their staff on base. Everything is hard wired and the conduit is sealed with a tamper proof silicon. The Government is very very particular about their SIPRnet (as they call it). Without wi-fi, what use is the iPad for the military other than to give them a little treat and waste our tax dollars? They already have mobile equipment in the vehicles that is far superior to Apple's products.

    Because you do contracts for the Department of the Navy does not mean you know everything. Also there is more tax dollars going to waste every DAY with the current administration.

    Trust me I served for 21 years and saw waste fraud and abuse, and there aint a dam thing your going to do, as soon as you blow the whistle your career is down the toilet and that is active duty personnel and the civilian workers also.

    Disappointed.

    I had this on my Verizon iPhone. Last night, clock went back an hour instead of forward. Looked into clock settings, but decided to wait & see if it fixed itself by morning. Next morning, clock still incorrect on my lock screen, until I went to the home screen, then it corrected itself. Lock screen now good too.

    I am new here to the forum and was wondering if anyone could advise why only some of my contacts have matched accross?

    Is it due to the fact that some of my numbers start +44 in my phonebook and they may start 07.... in facebook??

    not sure what credentials it uses to compare and match the different phonebooks i.e name, number ect.

    anyone know? :D

    I am expecting in Los Angeles to hit $5, need to research bus route information to work.

    Expensive! Here its still hovering around 3.50, I can't imagine paying $5 a gallon

    One biggie is an enhancement, as opposed to a fix. Outlook can now sync w/iCal. This was present in Entourage, but was dropped from the initial release of Outlook.

    Too bad this wasn't released a couple of weeks ago. I could have saved some struggles for my boss who we moved from Windows/Outlook to OS X/Mail/iCal.

    Which cameras in particular. It already supports all the serious Pro cameras if you ignore the very recently announced Canon and Nikon amature DSLRs.

    My brother is a photographer, and has a medium format mumiya camera with digital back

    It supports his SLRS, but not his mumiya

    So, he can't really use aperture.

    that's exactly what i was wondering about! i don't know if EU regulations apply to the ipad, but they certainly do apply to the iphone. and i think, apple has to include a miniUSB port (standardized charger) to the iphone 5 if they want to sell it here in europe. a simply dock connector just won't do.

    Jeez - last time we had page after page of arguments about this silly NON ISSUE.

    Article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_External_Power_Supply)

    [MoU] 4.2.1...if a manufacturer makes available an Adaptor from the Micro-USB connector of a Common EPS to a specific non-Micro-USB socket in the Mobile Phone, it shall constitute compliance to this article" and, "...An Adaptor can also be a detachable cable."

    So Apple is probably already compatible with its USBA to 30 pin adaptor cable, and if not then a supplied Micro USB to 30 pin would be fine.

    The line-in port on the iMac, Mac Pro, 15" & 17" MBP's and the Mac Mini.

    Fair enough. How did you get onto the subject of the Mac line in in a thread about the iDevice 30 pin connector?

    Of course they are less expensive. No packaging, no media, no store space, no shipping required.

    They should be less expensive.

    I don't understand what this fuzz is about! I buy a DVD, I watch it, say, 10 times. (Some criminally inclined people would even rip it, shame!) If I don't want it any more, I'll resell it for maybe half the price on Eballs.

    I can't resell the downloaded version. The resale value of the purchased media drops to $0 the moment I buy it. That means, it should be half the price of a DVD. But wait... No packaging, no physical media, (in a way) no retail profit margin...

    The download should be one third the price of the DVD. That's fair!

    But that's just the thing, it's not serious. At least I don't think so. A bigger deal has been made of it in this thread talking to you than any other place I've encountered. How's that for irony?

    Well I've not yet appeared in the news. Note that when I talk about the rebellious crowd, I'm referring to more than just you and the peopl in this thread. There has been a total overreaction to it in the news and by 'celebrities' over the country. In any case, that's not irony.

    Some time in the future when past christmas number ones are played I'll get a little smile when I hear 2009's.

    I sincerely hope not. I'd rather have anything other than a poor metal track being played continually on the radio over the festive period.
